Last Tuesday Almaty city resident Nurila Apchukirova celebrated her 100th birthday. Not only her relatives but also chairman of Almaly regional branch of «Nur Otan» National Democratic Party Marat Prinbekov and chairman of regional council of veterans Zeken Adilbekov came to congratulate her.
Nurila Apchukirova was born on May 18, 1910 in Karakum village of Alakol region of Taldy-Korgan oblast. She started working in kolhoz at the age of 13. The ground in this area is irrigated. The teenager girl had to face all difficulty of non-easy peasant work from early age – she had to clean channels, to lift water to the fields, to weed, to work with a reaping hook and shovel.
When harvest season started, women in the village worked equally with men. And that is not an exaggeration. When Nurila grew up and became stronger, she was given the most difficult work. And it was said that there was no one better at hay time even among the men – not every man could mow a hectare a day, but she could!
Nurila got married at the age of 18, now has 4 children. It seemed that this was the happiness. But the war started and her husband went to the front in 1941 and died in 42 (he is buried in Kalinin oblast), but beauty Nurila did not get married again. She says it was not time for that.
In 1946 Nurila Apchukirova was elected a deputy of regional council, and in 1948 she was elected a deputy of the oblast. In early 1950s she was sent to the capital city of the republic as a delegate of party congress.
That’s what she was like – smart, beautiful and hardworking pride of kolhoz.
At the anniversary birthday the guests again recalled that when she was young the grandmother managed to run a house, was highly organized and hardworking.
But up to the present grandmother Nurila has remained willed, cheerful person. Her relatives and close ones are proud of her: at her declining age she does not need help, willingly does the housework and even sews clothes for herself. Neither her sight, nor her hands short sell her.
The job merits of the participant of work front are not forgotten by the officials. In 2003 she was provided with a single room flat in Almaty where she resides with her granddaughter. Bu in fact, up to the present grandmother Nurila has got 5 generations of her offspring – children, grandchildren, grand-grandchildren, grandgrand-grandchildren. They total over 70 people.
Just imagine how number of Kazakhstani long-livers would increase if they inherited the good health of grandmother Nurila. What if they also inherited her ability to work hard? Then they would be able to move mountains!
With this regard we may congratulate not only hero of the fete – grandmother Nurila, but also all her predecessors!
