ALMATY. January 19. KAZINFORM /Dauren Jaylin/ –2410 working places were created in the region for the past period, which is 101,4% of the year plan. The Mayor of Almaly region Marat Prinbekov told the residents about this at his reporting meeting in Almaty, as Kazinform’s correspondent reports.

As M.Prinbekov stated, in Almaly region the stability of work of industrial companies and small business resulted in good level of fiscal revenues to the budget.

In 2008 the budget had KZT147.2 bln of tax which is 105.6% of forecasted figures. Of them KZT112.5bln was transferred to the republic budget and KZT34.7bln – to the local one. The production output was KZT51.3bln in effective prices which is 83.3% YOY. About 60% of SME of the region have a quite high production growth rate.

In the past year in Almaly region KAZ30.86bln of investment to the equity was disbursed at account of all sources of financing of large and medium investors. In comparison with past year this figure increased by 78.9 %.

At present in the region 446 of acting industrial companies are registered, of which 37 are of large and medium size.   The number of workers at large and medium companies is 9200 people. The average monthly wage reached KZT88744 or 115.6% YOY.

According to the mayor, throughout 2008 an active campaign on employment of the population was carried out. The citizens in need were assisted with temporary employment in execution of public works and works on well-being of the region. Organization of job fairs helped. Total number of people employed in the period was 560, 65 people were employed to social working places, and 100 people – on purposed groups. 571 people participated in public works. At present realization of employment program continues which envisages provision of effective employment of people and reduction of unemployment rate.
